Context and Challenges of the Mauritania
Fishing in Mauritania faces significant ecological and economic challenges. This project aims to address these key issues:
- Overexploitation of stocks : Octopus, crucial to the local economy, is at risk from overfishing.
- Destruction of marine habitats : Current fishing techniques severely damage underwater ecosystems.
- Plastic pollution : Tons of fishing nets and plastic waste pollute the oceans each year.
- Sustainable solutions : The introduction of Netless fishing and the Blue Coaster helps reduce environmental impact while promoting a circular and sustainable economy.

Netless: The Innovation Driving the Mauritania Project
The Netless system is a key component of the Mauritania Project, aimed at promoting sustainable fishing in West Africa. In Mauritania, where overfishing and traditional methods threaten marine resources.
Netless offers an innovative solution that preserves the seabed and reduces bycatch through bubble-based capture. This technology aligns with the goals of Blue Fishery, providing a sustainable solution for local communities while ensuring responsible resource management.
